big bottom chair
author: Nebojša Joksimović
awards: golden key, belgrade furniture fair (2011)
the big bottom chair could be construed as an answer to the overall unhealthy lifestyle of many modern societies or it can simply be regarded as a seat with a great sense of humor. whatever the case may be, it does get people thinking, and chuckling. the big bottom chair is a fun and possibly offensive design that will easily oblige the booties of obese individuals. designed by serbia-based yoximovic design studio, the big bottom chair boasts a simple silhouette despite its comical connotations. tasteful in every way but its name, which is actually more funny than foul, it is made out of wood. fashioned as one whole to resemble four letter zs, it adheres to the designer's belief that "nothing is really just what it is„.
